Churn Effect by Average Annual Temperature

How Average Annual Temperature affects Churn in a Telecommunications company

The purpose of this Tableau dashboard is to provide a comprehensive view of churn data for WGU Mobile (fictitious company). By including sheets such as “Gender”, “Churn Rate” map, and ‘‘Contract Type vs Churn Rate vs Average Annual Temperature”, the dashboard allows executives and stakeholders to gain insights into customer churn patterns and their potential causes. This information is crucial for our company that aims to understand and mitigate customer attrition, optimize retention strategies, and ultimately improve profitability. The dashboard is especially relevant for our SVP focused to increase customer engagement to improve both recruitment and retention. Moreover, the dashboard also focuses on the EVP’s interest in broad categorization of customers and how this is reflected across all states. For Regional VP’s this dashboard plays a key role on identifying customer demographics that can be used to improve retention in their regions, for example, enhancing promotions with specific customer groups. Also through this dashboard we are able to generate an engaging story backed up by evidence, which is relevant for my data analytics peers in the company.

The project was built connecting a PostgreSQL database to Tableau, along Hexagonal spatial data for the map. Below is an ERD diagram generated in PgAdmin showing the SQL tables used:

The following SQL code was used to join the different PostgreSQL tables in Tableau:
